Earthquake!

On the 26th February at 0054hrs (so technically 27/02 I guess) England suffered an Earth quake. It happened in Dudley as registered as a 4.8. I realise this is nothing to people who live in highly active earthquake areas, fault lines I think they're called. But too little ol' me watching Underworld on the TV and slightly nodding off it came as something of a surprise. The winds were high that night so at first I thought it was just a rather fierce wind blow. But when the couch actually moved and I could hear the walls groaning it work me up somewhat. In sort it shook me up....sorry couldn't help myself.

Sadly what hasn't surprised me is the level of human stupidity that happened lets afterwards:

12 people turned up to the police stations. In their night cloths - Why?! I mean come on people! There's no reason to go down to the police station, I mean what are they going to do arrest the earthquake? But if you are is it that hard to get dressed before you go down to the cop shop?

"My first thought was terrorists" - Terrorists. Arrgh! I know that people are idiots and yet I'm still surprised as to just how stupid they are. Why, I mean WHY would anybody think that an earthquake is the result of terrorists?! It's just inconceivable, unless the terrorists are some sort of James Bond villain. This level of panic just shows how effective the terrorists (and by that I mean our government) have been in making us believe that terrorists are everywhere, are all powerful and need to be stop at all costs (and by that I mean get away with passing all sorts of laws that strip us of our freedoms).

To be honest I'm still just a little surprised I haven't seen anyone linking this to global warming yet. Still there's time I guess.
